MTV Roadies Shambhavi Sharma Photoshoot — Shambhavi Sharma was one of the contestants of MTV Roadies 5 , an adventure reality show. She was eliminated on April 12, 2008. She, a finalist on MTV’s reality show Roadies who was known for her flirtatious and cunning ways, has now stepped into Bollywood with The Little Godfather

The film, being produced by Ekta Kapoor and Suniel Shetty, was offered to Shambhavi while she was featuring in the fifth edition of MTV Roadies, an adventure reality show.

“I was offered the film during the second or third episode of Roadies through MTV,” Shambhavi said.

The 19-year-old law student was also selected to participate in the international leg of the show, but was voted out in its very first episode.

So how did the The Little Godfather come her way?

“I was not expecting it at all, it just happened. I used to love facing the camera and now that I am doing it, I am very excited about it,” she said.

Asked about her character and co-actor in the film, Shambhavi said she could divulge any details.

A self-confessed controversy queen, she feels she has become more confident after her stint in Roadies. I used to be very shy before being a part of Roadies. But after that, my whole perspective towards life has changed and I have also become more expressive,” she said.

Shambhavi describes her experience in the show as “outstanding”.

“Roadies is an awesome show. I enjoyed each and every bit of it.”

She stole the limelight on the show for her conniving, forthright and flirtatious ways. She now proudly admits that it was her well-thought strategy.

“I don’t gel very well with girls. So when I used to be with the boys, people started thinking wrong about me. Besides, yes, my scheming was a part of my strategy to survive in the show,” she explained.

When Shambhavi returned to Mumbai, she realised that she had become a popular figure.

“When I came back, my friends and parents were very happy with the way I performed and people even started recognising me on the streets. I also signed a few autographs,” she said excitedly.

Salon interviewed the authors of "Milk Memos: How Real Moms Learned to Mix Babies and Business and How You Can Too." In this case, "business and babies" means "business and breast-pumping" and the writers offer up tips such as "juggling a career, breast-feeding, family and all of life's other demands is possible (but not always easy or graceful)" and are quite persuasive on the need for companies to provide a clean safe place for women to pump, but I still don't buy it for a second.

I agree with the authors that more workplace support for breastfeeding and more honest discussions such as "excuse me, I need to go express milk” would go a long way to making the whole enterprise less stressful. But I’m sorry, it just doesn’t cut it. Lactating at work is a pain … an insufferable, inconvenient production that unless you have a private office with a lock and sufficient maternity leave (more than the paltry 6 weeks usually allotted) no amount of company support is going to alleviate. Without sufficient maternity leave to get things sorted with baby and caregiver and hormones, a nice clean room is completely insufficient to the task. No wonder most women in this country only breastfeed for 7 weeks. To do otherwise is a feat of super human strength and determination.

She has modelled for various ad campaigns, which include Kit Kat, Taj Hotels, NIIT and Aristocrat whisky, but it was the Nescafe commercial that catapulted her to into the limelight.

Many are not aware that Maushmi is a trained classical dancer from the Nalanda Dance University and is comfortable with all styles of dancing, ranging from Western to Indian, reports Bollywood Trade.

Maushmi is all excited about her appearance in a condom ad. 'My latest ad campaign is for Zaroor condoms, where I am wearing a sari and it's a very clean ad. It basically gives out a social message, especially to the youth who get carried away very easily. It's also about women empowerment and the tagline is 'Male fantasy', reveals Maushmi.

She was earlier seen donning a white sari with her long open tresses in Bally Sagoo's music video 'Noorie'. The other popular videos she has appeared in include Nitin Bali's 'Neele Neele ambar par' and Arvinder Singh's 'Pani sharaab mein'.

Needless to say, her music albums have created quite a stir and she has already shot for another video for Priyadarshan's forthcoming film 'Bhagam Bhaag'. 'I have just shot for the eight-minute promotional song of 'Bhagam Bhaag' called 'Aafareen' with Akshay Kumar and Govinda. It's a fast racy number with an opera feel to it. It has been shot in a very stylised way and I am really excited about it', gushes the Nescafe lass.

'I am basically an introvert. It was so sweet of Akshay to come and introduce himself to me. Even Govinda was very cordial and down to earth. They both made me feel damn comfortable. I had a blast on the sets,' she adds.

She has another music album lined up which is sung by Sonu Kakkad of 'Babujee' fame and directed by Siddarth Raj Anand, known for his 'Salaam Namaste'. 'It's called 'dil saara chumbak hai'. Ahmed Khan has choreographed it and it's a hard-core dance number. It will release very soon,' exclaims Maushmi.

Her debut film 'Lips - The Kiss of Death', opposite Anuj Saxena is said to be an emotional romantic thriller.

'The entire film has been shot in New York. I play the main protagonist in the film and it is produced by a US-based production company owned by S. Khimani. It is a romantic thriller though I am open to all kinds of roles, in fact, I can do great comedy and can play sensitive characters onscreen because I am a very emotional and sensitive in real life. Salma Hayek On The Set Of 30 Rock -- Best Actress Oscar nominee, Salma Hayek, has given her confirmation saying that she is delightful in being a part of the Tina Fey's comedy "30 Rock". Hayek's involvement in the series is playing the role as Alec Baldwin's new love interest.

Salma Hayek showed off her post-pregnancy and absolutely flawless body on the set of "30 Rock" in Brooklyn earlier today. I mean, HEY NOW! During a break, the actress spent time with her little daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault in her trailer.

Hayek, who also appeared on Ugly Betty two seasons ago, will appear on 30 Rock, “as a character - not as herself.”

She joins a star-studded list of guest stars that includes Jennifer Aniston, Oprah Winfrey and Gossip Girl frenemies Blake Lively (Serena) and Leighton Meester (Blair). The girls will play high school classmates of Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) in a flashback sequence on an upcoming episode airing this November.

"He learned very fast," says Raksha, Akrit's mother. "After learning the alphabet, we started to teach him joining of words, and he started writing as well. He was two." While in class II he cleared exams meant for class V. His mother realized he was special when he would answer graduate level questions.

At an age when most children are learning their ABCs, Akrit was reading Shakespeare and assembling a library of medical textbooks. When he was 5 years old, he enrolled in school. One year later, Akrit was teaching English and math classes.

Akrit developed a passion for science and anatomy at an early age. Doctors at local hospitals took notice and started allowing him to observe surgeries when he was 6 years old. Inspired by what he saw, Akrit read everything he could on the topic. When an impoverished family heard about his amazing abilities, they asked if he would operate on their daughter for free. Her surgery was a success.

After the surgery, Akrit was hailed as a medical genius in India. Neighbors and strangers flocked to him for advice and treatment. At age 11, Akrit was admitted to Punjab University. He's the youngest student ever to attend an Indian university. That same year, he was also invited to London's famed Imperial College to exchange ideas with scientists on the cutting edge of medical research.

Akrit says he has millions of medical ideas, but he's currently focused on developing a cure for cancer. "I've developed a concept called oral gene therapy on the basis of my research and my theories," he says. "I'm quite dedicated towards working on this mechanism."

Growing up, Akrit says he used to see cancer patients lying on the side of the road because they couldn't afford treatment or hospitals had no space for them. Now, he wants to use his intellect to ease their suffering. "[I've been] going to hospitals since the age of 6, so I have seen first hand people suffering from pain," he says. "I get very sad, and so that's the main motive of my passion about medicine, my passion about cancer."

However, Akrit’s progress came at a price: frustrated with the perceived lack of support for his gifted son, Akrit’s father became depressed and left the family home some time back, telling him not to get in touch until Akrit had found a cure for cancer. Adored by his self-sacrificing mother and treated as a genius, Akrit has no doubt he will do this. Akrit does not come from a rich family.

An Indian baby born with two faces is doing well one month after her birth, doctors have said. Lali was born with two noses, two pairs of lips and two pairs of eyes - but only two ears. And while she may seem like an oddity to some, her proud parents think she is simply a God reincarnated.

The baby girl was born in the rural Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, 50km north east of New Delhi. Her parents, Vinod and Susham Singh from a village called Saini, said their little girl was "a gift from God". Excited villagers claim she is the reincarnation of the Indian God Ganesha and celebrated her arrival with clapping, cheering and offerings of gifts and money.

In a 40 hour operation, doctors successfully removed the lifeless body from Lakshmi Tatma, who was hailed as a reincarnation of Vishnu.

However, there are numerous folktales and several instance in mythological legends that shows that friends and friendship have been valued since the beginning of civilized world. As an intrinsically social creature, men love to make friends to further this process of socialization.

History of Friendship Day in US -

Considering the valuable role friends play in our life it was deemed to fit to have a day dedicated to friends and friendship. The United States Congress, in 1935, proclaimed first Sunday of August as the National Friendship Day. Since then, celebration of National Friendship Day became an annual event. The noble idea of honoring the beautiful relationship of friendship caught on with the people and soon Friendship Day became a hugely popular festival.

Following the popularity and success of Friendship Day in US, several other countries adopted the tradition of dedicating a day to friends. Today, Friendship Day is enthusiastically celebrated by several countries across the world including India. In 1997, the United Nations named Winnie - the Pooh as the world's Ambassador of Friendship.

Importance of Friendship in Bible -

The Bible, the primary text of the western civilization, reflects upon friendship as the bond that forms the foundation to human faith, trust and companionship. Following verses from the bible aptly portray the importance of friends:

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

“Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13-15

Besides, there are several tales from the Old Testament and the New Testament about the value of friendship and how true friendship is a treasure to unearth. A noticeable point is that, both the versions make a difference between the two broad meanings of friendship- one is a mere acquaintance, the other is a more affectionate relation.

In the Old Testament, Abraham is called the “friend of God” because of the intimacy of his relations. God speaks to Moses face to face “as a man…unto his friend” (Ex 33:11). The romantic friendship of Ruth and Naomi, the devotion of the subordinate Hushai for David, or the mutual relation between David and Jonathan - the Old Testament is replete with these interesting tales of friends and friendship.

In the New Testament, the relationship between Jesus and his disciples clearly depicts how human friendship can constantly grow. From being teacher and disciple, to lord and servant their relationship finally grew to an unparalleled friendship.

Importance of Friendship in Mahabharata -

We really like the soon-to-be-released Optimus keyboard Art but, seriously, how often do you type on your computer?

I can imagine that artists, musicians and video editors would like something like this... however, there are solid LCD tablet displays and Tablet PCs on the market already. Experience shows that, for the time being, it's a limited market. Further limiting it to a keyboard replacement could be economically impractical at best, never mind how practical this could be. The issue of the price is the other key here: by the time a touch surface keyboard could be a commercial reality coming from China via Moscow, touch computing from Apple and Microsoft would be so ubiquitous that it won't make sense anymore.

New Delhi, Dec 05: The face of many a brand, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the ramp for the first time after her marriage to endorse the launch of a new bridal collection of luxury watches from Longines on late Wednesday.

Posing happily for the shutterbugs, Aishwarya seemed very comfortable answering the questions regarding the new phase in her life and the speculations surrounding her pregnancy.

Talking about the new change in her life, she said that she is a happy girl after her wedding. “I feel so blessed. I wish we had more time off. Abhishek and me keep talking about our honeymoon,” she said.

"It`s very difficult to articulate, put it down in just a few sentences because it`s obviously a very, very wonderful and joyous phase and I strongly recommend it," she said when asked about her feelings of being a married woman.

Apart from the marital bliss, Aishwarya is also excited about her big Hollywood project, sequel to Pink Panther; The Pink Panther Deux with Steve Martin, in which she plays the female lead as a criminal expert.

Her much awaited forthcoming films include Jodha Akbar by Ashutosh Gowarikar and Sarkar Raj by Ram Gopal Varma scheduled for release in early 2008.

Seeing her mum crying, she wanted to comfort her. But she realized that all that could come out of her mouth was just a sigh. She has lost her voice.

The doctor says that the impact on her brain has caused her to lose her voice. Listening to her parents' comfort, but with nothing coming out from her, she broke down.

During the stay in hospital, besides silence cry, it's still just silence cry that companied her. Upon reaching home, everything seems to be the same. Except for the ringing tone of the phone. Which pierced into her heart every time it rang. She does not wish to let the guy know. & not wanting to be a burden to him, she wrote a letter to him saying that she does not wish to wait any longer.

With that, she sent the ring back to him. In return, the guy sent millions & millions of reply, and countless of phone calls,.. all the girl could do, besides crying, is still crying.

The parents decided to move away, hoping that she could eventually forget everything & be happy. With a new environment, the girl learnt sign language & started a new life. Telling herself everyday that she must forget the guy. One day, her friend came & told her that he's back. She asked her friend not to let him know what happened to her. Since then, there wasn't anymore news of him.

A year has passed & her friend came with an envelope, containing an invitation card for the guy's wedding. The girl was shattered. When she opened the letter, she saw her name in it instead.

When she was about to ask her friend what's going on, she saw the guy standing in front of her. He used sign language telling her "I've spent a year's time to learn sign language. As files are deleted, they are automatically copied to the mini-trash can-shaped device, providing an extra safety net should the user accidentally delete important files. As the 250 GB of space is used up, embedded LEDs light Tempo's exterior surface from the bottom up, as if it were physically being filled.

Designed to mimic the look of a trash can, TEMPO is a unique hard drive storage device. Intended to protect the user from accidentally deleting files, it can also be used as an external storage device. As you delete files, they are automatically copied to the TEMPO. Nissan of Europe has released a bevy of images showing every nook and cranny of its upcoming Geneva-bound concept, the Terranaut. The 4x4, according to the company, was designed for “scientists, geologists, archaeologists or adventurers” whose office is the great outdoors.

It seats three people in an interior quite obviously modeled after a U.S.S. Enterprise shuttlecraft. The “spherical laboratory” is accessed from a seat that swivels 360 degrees to give any intrepid scientist access to all of the vehicle’s workstations. Those workstations leave room for only one passenger-side door, while the driver’s side has two swing-out doors with no b-pillar. What’s the chance of seeing the Terranaut on the street? Pretty good if you own a Holladeck.

Fiat introduced the latest interpretation of its iconic 500 minicar (say "Cinquecento") yesterday to customers in Italy, exactly 50 years to the day after the first one was released to the buying public. Sales in the rest of Europe will follow, but for the time being, Italy gets to experience the modernized car that helped put the entire nation on wheels designed specifically for congested Italian cities. While the original 500 featured a diminutive 13 horsepower 479cc two-cylinder motor mounted in the rear, the '08 model features a choice of three four-cylinder engines mounted under the front hood and putting power to the front wheels.

Engine choices include 1.2 and 1.4 liter four-cylinder gas engines rated between 68 and 99 horsepower and a 1.3 liter, 74 horsepower diesel. While these power outputs certainly seem low, the little 500 could fit between the wheels of Ford F-250 SuperDuty SuperCrew. The 500 is more about style than performance and it is being launched with a large line of personalization options never dreamed about in the old car. A wide range of interior colors and wheel options will be available, as well as a Mini Cooper-esque accessory catalog. Comparisons to the Mini are inevitable since the Fiat is, for all practical reasons, the same size.

The 500's wheelbase is 7" shorter and the overall length is about 2" shorter. And the 500 is expected to mimic the Mini by offering a convertible later in its model run. The four-seat 500's accessory catalog will include a wide variety of wheels and tires, as well as some retro touches, like chrome bumper overriders, The 500 does feature a unique Microsoft-developed Bluetooth-based in-car entertainment system. The Blue&Me system, which combines Bluetooth hands-free mobile phone use, voice recognition, a USB port, an MP3 player and an SMS text message interpreter, can be augmented by the Blue&Me Nav system, which also includes navigation system that can be programmed before departure via a USB memory stick.

The 500 is available with a portable navigation device that integrates directly into the car's audio system and can play music from the USB memory stick. U.S. sales are unlikely to be in the picture any time soon, according to Fiat boss Sergio Macchione. The Fiat Group is most focused on strengthening its high-end Maserati sales in order to facilitate easy entry for Alfa Romeo in '09. It doesn't look like the Fiat brand is anywhere in the parent company's U.S. portfolio any time soon. Still, the 500 is expected to eventually go on sale in Mexico later this year. Fiat says that 30,000 orders have already been placed for the 500. Production is scheduled for between 50 and 70,000 cars.
