Nokia N76 review

Nokia N76 mobile phone CES 2007 finally kicks off in earnest, and first among the big new releases is Nokia, with its new Nokia N76. As it's an N-series phone, you'd expect the N76 to be all-singing all-dancing, but no this time - the N76 is a budget phone multimedia computer (well, compared with its N-series siblings), sporting only a 2 megapixel camera, MP3 player, video recorder, up to 2GB storage, and er, well that's it!

Well, not quite it - it has a tasty looking 2.4" 16 million colour screen. But nothing special to mark this N-Series phone out from its competitors.

Nokia N76 mobile phone - on its side Fortunately this lack of features is reflected in the price - 390 EUROs, which, although not cheap for a phone, is still miles cheaper than your average N-Series phone. And given that the N-Series is a premium brand, you can expect all the components to be top notch, thus making the N76 a cut above your average mid-level phone.
Nokia N76 mobile phone in red For those of you bored of the average black phone, the N76 also comes in red (see pic, left), but I'm not sure how well this colour works personally, particularly around the grey of the keys. Makes the whole thing look a bit naff. Much better in black!

If you want a good looking N-Series phone, but can't quite stretch to the other high end phones in the N-Series series (as it were!), the N76 might just be for you.

The Nokia N76 release date is expected to be Quarter 1 2007, so you won't have too long to wait.
